Ann Holden Kendell, Attorney at Law

Ann Holden Kendell is a member of BrownWinick and is Chair of the firm's Associates Committee. Ann practices primarily in employment law, which includes counseling employers on hiring, discipline, termination, discrimination and harassment issues, payroll and personnel policies, as well as employment litigation. Ann conducts management training concerning personnel issues and has served as an investigator for clients regarding discrimination and harassment allegations. She often appears in front of administrative agencies, such as Iowa Workforce Development and the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, as well as state and federal courts on behalf of clients. Ann frequently speaks and writes articles on various employment law topics.

Ann is a member of the Polk County, Iowa State (Member, Sections on: Labor and Employment; Litigation) and American (Member, Sections on: Labor and Employment; Litigation) Bar Associations. She is a member of the Polk County Women Attorneys, where she served as its President in 2006 and served on its Board in various capacities since 2000. She is also a member of the Women’s Chamber Alliance and National Conference of Women's Bar Association.

Ann received her B.S. degree in History from Iowa State University in 1995 and her J.D. from Drake University in 1998. She was admitted to the Iowa bar, United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa and United States Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1998. Ann clerked for Iowa Supreme Court Justice David Harris after her graduation in 1998 and has been in private practice since 1999.
